Obituary for Jack E. Prestrud

Prestrud, Jack E., 79, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2016.
Jack was born in Kalispell, Montana, but raised in Seattle. He studied at University of Washington for one year before enlisting in the Air Force. He spent most of his 4-year enlistment in Berlin, Germany as an intelligence officer. He received his Bachelor, Masters, and Law Degrees from University of Washington. He spent his career as a tax attorney for the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
At nearly 6’6”, many wondered if Jack was an athlete. But he was analytically driven; he was an avid reader and puzzler. He enjoyed playing golf, painting, playing cards, and gardening. He spent over 40 years living in Cleveland, Ohio and was a devoted Browns fan.
Jack was preceded in death by his father, Henry Alexander and his mother, Eleanor Bowles.
He is survived by daughters, Annie Prestrud and Erica Albrecht (Matt); sister, Karen Hart; brother, Chuck Prestrud (Terrie); and grandchildren, Lindsey and Zack. He is also survived by his neighbors, Anne and Frank Eureka, and their children, Dan, Elizabeth, John, and Jackie.
Cremation was selected, with a private inurnment at Cave Hill. A memorial gathering will be held at a later date in Seattle.
