Obituary for Elizabeth F. Allsbrook

ALLSBROOK,
Elizabeth F., beloved wife, sister, and aunt, died peacefully on September 5, 2017 after a brief illness.
Born in Royal Oak, Michigan on December 11, 1922, Elizabeth spent most of her childhood in Louisville. She graduated from Parkland High School and then went on to take business classes at the University of Louisville. She spent her early professional life working for Ford Motor Company.
She met and married the love of her life, Linwood Allsbrook, in 1965. The two were married for 47 happy years. Upon Linwood’s retirement from Ford Motor Company the couple moved to Roanoke Rapids, NC and opened a successful car dealership that they operated together for twenty years. After their second retirement they returned to Louisville.
Elizabeth enjoyed entertaining, traveling, golf, and needlepoint but most of all she enjoyed the time she spent with her family.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Linwood; her parents, William and Rose Fulkerson; four sisters, Wallee, Minnie Lee, Rose, and Evelyn; and five brothers, William, Jack, James, Clarence, and Frank.
Left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Christine and Becky; her brother, Calvin (Janie); sisters-in-law, Clara, Joyce, and Sharon; her niece, Tammy; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be at noon Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. with a private burial to follow. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at Highlands.
