Charles Thomas Lickteig, age 84, was born February 12, 1934 in Louisville, KY. He returned to his Heavenly Father on Friday March 23, 2018 while surrounded by family. He served in the US Army as a Military Police Officer. He then returned to the Louisville Division of Police where he served on the motorcycle squad and helped start the Louisville Police Dive Team. After retiring from the Louisville Division of Police, he joined the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office as a Deputy Sheriff and retired in 1996.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Elizabeth; his brother, William “Bud”.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 58 years, Ruth Doyle; daughter Rebecca (John Becker), son Charles II (Joanna), daughter Dianna (Kurt Jansen), son Christopher, son John (Kelly), son Gregory (Courtney); 9 grandchildren, Mark, Brian, Brianna, Patrick, Erik, Eleanor, Caroline, William and Jeremiah.
Visitation and funeral service will be held at Highland Funeral Home (3331 Taylorsville Rd. Louisville, KY 40205) on Tuesday March 27, 2018. Visitation begins at 10:00am with funeral service to follow at 1:00pm. Burial with Honors to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Louisville, KY. Donations may be made to Hosparus of Louisville and the Parkinson’s Foundation.
