Ailene Purvis Elliott died peacefully on March 22. One of five children, she was born on June 12, 1928 to Henry and Lottie Purvis of Larue County. Ailene was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years Gene Elliott and four siblings, Milton Purvis, Lillie Mae Carter, Catherine Hazle and Mary Price.
She is survived by her daughter Kathy Anderson (Dennis) and many beloved nieces and nephews in Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio.
A devoted grade school teacher, Ailene taught in the Jefferson County school system for over 35 years. She particularly loved teaching third and fourth graders.
After growing up in the Methodist church, Ailene and Gene joined Bethany Methodist Church and focused their lives around church and family. In 1988 they transferred their membership to St Matthews United Methodist Church.
Visitation is Monday 3/28/22 - 11 am - 1 pm, Funeral Service - 1 pm - Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd Louisville, KY.
Burial will follow at Cave Hill Cemetery.
