Obituary for Allison S. Richardson (Staffen)

Allison S. Richardson passed away peacefully at age 66 at her home on Friday December 15, 2023. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Pat, her son Patrick, daughter Jennie, and sister Jan Staffen Jones and Annette Staffen Hornsby. She was preceded in death by her mother Mildred Staffen, her sister Cathie Staffen Cushman and brother Greg Staffen, and father Lossie Staffen.

Allison was a fighter and had a 13-year battle with multiple myeloma and battled multiple brain neurocytomas for the last six years. She always kept a very positive attitude while battling these cancers and was always very respectful and friendly to the healthcare professionals even on the bad days.

Allison, growing up, loved competing in horseback riding competitions. She loved her family and would do anything for them and was very involved in her kids’ sports and theatre activities. She was generous and caring and always showed concern for others.

Allison graduated from Assumption High School and the University of Louisville. Her early career was in the computer and software industries working for Humana, Dairyman and Capital Holding. Once the kids were grown, she worked for Mattel Toys as a marketing representative.

Visitation will be from 3-7pm on Tuesday, the 19th at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd., Louisville, KY 40205. A Mass will be celebrated at St. Albert the Great Church, 1395 Girard Dr., Louisville, KY 40222 at 10am on Wednesday, the 20th December 2023. Burial to follow in Cave Hill Cemetery.
