Obituary for Anita Perronie Carr

Anita M. Carr, 78, of Louisville, passed away on Sunday, February 25th, 2024.

She was born on November 9th, 1945, in Louisville, Kentucky. She was retired from Endocrine and Diabetes Associates where she had worked as a medical coder and billing specialist. Anita loved reading, quilting, writing poetry, gardening, cooking, and visiting her son and family in Alabama. She cherished her precious time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Anita was preceded in death by Jimmy Carr, her loving husband of 52 years; her parents, Shirley and Philip Perronie; her in laws, Bert and Mary Carr; her sister, Betty (Boopie) Benjamin; sister-in-law, Mary Ann (Peach) Monks; brother in-law, Greg Cox; and her son-in-law, Jonathan Crume.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Philip (Nicole) Carr, Joey Carr, and William Donovan (Kristen); daughter, Jamie Crume; grandchildren, Thomas Forden (Sunnye), Jacob Forden (Desarae), Kali Forden (Joe), Mac, Nate, and Lorenzo Carr, and Malia and Colton Crume; and her great-grandchildren, Carly, Jayla, Alyssa, Ellie, Luca and Lainey.

She is also survived by her sister, Phyllis Cox; brother-in-law, David Benjamin (Blackie); nephews, Scott Gerstner (Maria), Tony Gerstner (Laurie) and Tony Cox; nieces, Stacey Kerr, Julie Powell, and Courtney Guthrie (Phillip); as well as her great-nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by so many.

Anita's memorial visitation will be Friday, March 1st, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM that evening at Highlands.
