Ann Elizabeth Bensing, 97, passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2018.
She was the former Ann Elizabeth Reiss. Growing up she was a proud member of West Louisville Evangelical Church and then a longtime member of Bethel St. Paul Church. Ann was an assistant teacher at Chance Preschool for many years.
Ann’s life centered around her family. Nothing made her happier than being with her loved ones. She was full of life, and always put her family’s needs before her own. Ann’s favorite activities included dancing, going to the beach with family, and she especially enjoyed planting a new garden each spring.
Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Louise Reiss; husband, Howard Earl Bensing and sister, Louise Middendorf.
She is survived by her sons, Gary Bensing (Cheryl) and Rick Bensing (Kathy); daughter, Gayle Bensing; grandchildren, Kayla Bensing, Tara Bensing (Merwan Stevens), Kelly Bensing and Jason Bensing (Rachel) and great-grandchildren, Maddox Stevens, Ryan Bensing and Lacey Bensing.
Her funeral service will be at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of her service Sunday at Highlands.
Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Evergreen Cemetery.
