Obituary for Ann Glass Marshall
Ann Glass Marshall, 91, went home to be with the Lord on May 1st, 2023. She was born in Louisville on January 23rd, 1932, the daughter of S.C. "Buddy" and Irene Glass.
Ann was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy, class of 1950, and the University of Louisville, where she served as treasurer and vice president of Chi Omega sorority. She was a loyal Cardinal fan and enjoyed cheering them on throughout her life.
Ann was an active member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church, and served as a lector, a member of the parish council, and shared her beautiful singing voice in The Resurrection Choir. She also served as president of the Sacred Heart Academy Alumnae Board, and was president of the Our Lady of Peace Auxiliary. She worked as an elementary school teacher and was a devotee of using proper grammar and pronunciation.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her former husband, Dr. Thomas R. Marshall, Sr.
Ann is survived by her children, Dr. T.R. Marshall, Jr. (Joyce), Diane Marshall, Kathryn Hagerty (Brian), Linda Lindsey-Campbell (Dwayne), Cheryl O’Toole, and Angela Hardin (Steve); grandchildren, Taylar Sykes (Chris), Rob, Jordyn and Melanie Marshall; Charlotte and Carrie Denoyer; Alan Hagerty (Ashley) and Phil Hagerty (Stephanie); Lucas, Brett and Erica Lindsey; Chris, Megan and Austin O’Toole; Adam, Shane and Kate Hardin; and her great-grandchildren, Skylar, Everett and Naomi Hagerty; sister, Irene Adcock (Bill); and brother, Henry Glass (Sandy).
Ann's visitation will be 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Monday, May 8th, at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Tuesday, May 9th, at St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church, 2141 Lancashire Avenue, with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ann’s memory may be made to Right to Life Louisville or Sister Visitor.
