Obituary for Barbara Jean Rice (Nall)
RICE, Barbara Jean (Nall), 75, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at her home on March 11, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on December 12, 1947 in Louisville, Kentucky, and was a 1965 graduate of Presentation Academy.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Rose (Schlensker) Nall, her brothers Harold R. Nall and Terry Nall; and her brother-in-law, John Ackerman.
She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, John Rice; her children, David Rice (Cathy), Rebecca Washle (Cory Massey), and Todd Rice (Jamie); her grandchildren, Nicholas Washle (Alexis), Caroline Washle (Billy Weigel), Samantha Rice, Charlotte Rice, Jackson Rice, and Mason Rice; and her two sisters, Patricia "Poo" Ackerman and Deborah Wibbels (Ronald).
Barbara will forever be remembered for her selfless devotion to her family. While she may be gone, the love and loyalty she showed each day will live on in the hearts of her children and grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 17, 2023 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 - 8 p.m. Thursday at Highlands.
