Obituary for Benedict E. HESEN

HESEN, BENEDICT E. SR., 78, of Louisville, passed away Monday, January 11, 2010 at Baptist Hospital East.
Born in Louisville, he was a retired hospital CEO, having worked at the old St. Anthony's Hospital, Clark Memorial Hospital and Salem Hospital in Livingston, KY.
He was an Army sergeant in the Korean War and was awarded the Bronze Star. He was a Kentucky Colonel, and a member of the Knights of Columbus and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Martha Hemmerle Hesen; sons, Benedict Jr. (Cheryl), Paul (Sherri), Larry (Mary Kay) and Peter (Faye); siblings, Sue Beral of California, Herman Hesen,of Louisville, Matthew Hesen of Arkansas, and his twin brother, Webb Hesen and grandchildren, Ben III, Andy, Paige, Alex, Connor, Cooper, Emily and Hannah. He is also survived by his granddog, Jack.
His funeral Mass will be at noon on Friday, January 15, 2010 at Our Lady of Lourdes, 508 Breckinridge Lane with burial in St. Michael Cemetery. Visitation will be from -8 p.m. Thursday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd.
