Betty Jo Hoskinson, (Mam), 88, of Louisville, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, December 7, 2019. She was born October 20, 1931 in Bewleyville, KY to the late James and Emma Foote Wilson. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Willard.
Betty was a homemaker in every sense. She made her home a place where the sense of family was available to relatives, neighbors and strangers. She was tireless in care and concern and, importantly, brought insistent attention to what is right. She welcomed so many into her bright embrace, and her warmth and enthusiasm never failed to bring a smile.
In the years since the passing of her dear husband, Willard, she soldiered through her grief, and ultimately through various health challenges and retained her independence. She cultivated acceptance and had a sense of stewardship for her home and those who came into it. In the home she made, her family always knew love. Her caregivers found love and care. And friends and neighbors found her irrepressible energy inspiring and irresistible.
Now done with her work, her care and worry laid to rest, those of us left behind will count our blessings multiplied by being with Betty. And although we are sad in missing her special light in this world, we are more than glad that she returns to her beloved Willard in our Father’s heavenly home.
She is survived by her daughter, Ellen Huffman; a son, Steven Hoskinson; grandchildren, Jason Mullins (Shannon), Kim Mullins, Jacob Hoskinson, Jada Hoskinson; great grandchildren, Tre’ Sloan, Mackenzie Bowles, Benjamin Mullins, Jackson Mullins, Blake Colyer; nieces, Martha (Bill) Jessee, Jenny (Peter) Rog, and Rachel Vannarsdall, Linda (Stephen) Knight.
