Obituary for Betty Ann Kremer (Veeneman)

Betty Ann (Veeneman) Kremer

Louisville – Betty Ann (Veeneman) Kremer, 85, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 6, at her home, after a long battle with dementia. She was known and loved by many as “Nana”. Betty enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and meeting their friends, who also called her Nana. Her smile and infectious laugh will be remembered by many.

Betty graduated from Mercy Academy in 1954 and was a Catholic by faith. She worked at Bernie’s Auto Supply, Bernie and Eva were like family to her. After retiring, Betty enjoyed working in Macy’s Christmas department.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Lea Ann Tidwell Rice (Bill), Doug Kremer (Susan), and Ruth Allen; her brother, Larry Veeeman; her grandchildren: Chris Tidwell, Keith Tidwell (Brittany), Matt Rice (Quisha), Alex Rice, Brian Rice (Kayla), Garrett Bevars, Derek Allen (Hannah), Sean Allen (Aimee), and Kelsey Schackert (Tyler); and her great-grandchildren: Ellie Tidwell, Luke Tidwell, Carter Rice, Keegan Rice, Connor Rice, Kyler Rice, Marley Rice, Hoyt Rice, and Amelia Allen.

Betty was predeceased by her loving husband, Frank Kremer; her parents, Bessie and Lawrence Veeneman; and her son-in-law, David Allen.

Betty’s family would like to express their loving appreciation to Betty’s caregivers: Charlene Shiffman, Cheryl Williams, Chayla Carr, Evelyn Anderson, and Linda Thornton. Their invaluable service made it possible for Betty to remain at her home during her illness. We are all so appreciative of the care they provided.

The visitation and funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, May 11, at St John Paul II, 3521 Goldsmith Lane. The visitation will begin at 10:00 am with Mass to follow at 11:00am. Betty will then be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hosparus of Louisville or Pearl’s Memory Babies (www.PearlsMemoryBabies.com). Betty had a baby doll from Pearl’s Memory Babies that she loved very much and was a great comfort to her in her final months. Pearl’s Memory Babies is a non-profit organization that makes baby dolls for dementia patients.
