Obituary for Betty J. Pierce

Betty Jean Pierce, 90, entered into eternal rest on December 30, 2019.

She was the oldest daughter of John and Corrine Knorpp. Mom was the perfect homemaker, cooking gourmet meals and sewing to perfection. She made our family gatherings a special time with the tiniest details never being overlooked. In addition, she worked at Brown-Forman Distilleries for 36 years. She was a member of WAABI and an active fundraiser for Boys Sky Ranch in South Dakota. She and Daddy, Frank Pierce, twirled many hours with the Cardinal Twirlers Square Dancers. Mom loved her Catholic parish, Our Lady of Lourdes.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Pierce, and sister, Marian Purcell.

She is survived by her children, Sharron Hakola (Dave), F. David Pierce (Mary), and Linda Pierce; 5 grandchildren, Stacie Jones, Alechia Roederer, Sarah Mann (Doug), Ben Pierce (Stephanie) and Jason Bowlin (Chris); 9 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and her brother, Ron Knorpp.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 5, from 2-7pm, at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. There will be a Funeral Mass at noon on Monday, January 6, 2020, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 508 Breckenridge Ln, in St. Matthews. She will be laid to rest after Mass in Cave Hill Cemetery.

Family extends a sincere appreciation to the Belmont Community for all their loving care given to our mom.
