Betty was a graduate of Southern High School in Louisville, Kentucky, and worked at General Electric, where she met the love of her life, her husband, Glenn Schafer.
Betty loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and family. She loved reading, cooking for her family, and entertaining during the holidays. She loved traveling with her husband Glenn and close friends; especially visits to Saint John and Boca Raton. She also loved her home in Goshen. Kentucky, and loved watching TV from her big chair.
Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband, Glenn Frederick Schafer; her parents, Louise Steedly Sotsky, Jack Sotsky; and the mother who raised her, Elizabeth Carman Sotsky; sister-in-law, GeorgeAnne Childers Sotsky; and brother-in-law, Bobby Tumey.
Betty is survived by sons, Scott Schafer, Douglas Schafer, Matthew (Cindy) Schafer; grandchildren, Alyssa Schafer and Bryan Schafer; brother, George Sotsky; sister, Rosemary Sotsky Tumey; sister-in-law, Lois Schafer Pharis; and her cousins, nieces, and nephews, who adore her.
Betty's funeral services will be private.
