Billy Calvin Tracy, 88, died peacefully surrounded by his family Sunday, April 25th, 2021. Billy was born in Richmond, KY on December 10th, 1932. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Onalee and Earl Tracy, and his granddaughter, Brooke Ann Clemons.
He married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Ann Parke, on October 27th, 1955 before serving as a Corporal in the United States Army from 1955-57 during the Korean War. He later graduated from Eastern Kentucky University and moved to Louisville, KY where he taught industrial arts at Shawnee and DuPont Manual High School over his 30-year career.
Billy is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Ann Tracy; his three children, Pamela Tracy Flaherty, Duane Tracy (Sandy), and Stephanie Clemons (Bryan); grandchildren, Megan Nylander (Ryan), Lauren Collins (Corey), Morgan Davis (Taylor), Madison Tracy, Makenna Tracy, Austin Clemons, Spencer Tracy, and Kristen Clemons; and great-grandchildren, Zachary Nylander, Ethan Nylander, and Kennedy Collins.
He was an active member of St. Matthews Methodist Church for more than 60 years. Billy adored spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and always looked forward to their next sporting or school event. Personally, he enjoyed golf and was an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan.
In recent times, Billy and his wife Barbara resided at Belmont Village Senior Living where they enjoyed outside concerts, fun conversations in the dining room, and holiday celebrations. Barbara is forever grateful to the staff for the exceptional care they both received.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 29th from 5pm – 7pm at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road.
His funeral service will be held Friday, April 30th, 11:00 am, at St. Matthews Methodist Church, 319 Browns Lane, Louisville, KY. Burial with full military honors will follow at Calvary Cemetery, 1600 Newburg Road, Louisville, KY.
