Obituary for Bonnie Jean Stowers (Fendley)
Bonnie J. Stowers, Louisville. 90, transitioned from this life on Thursday, November 17th, 2022 to join her loving husband of 68 years, Earl in God’s glory.
She was born in Louisville on February 5th, 1932 to the late Linton and Ruth Fendley. She spent her professional career in various administrative roles in the legal field, as well as the last 20 years of her career working closely with three Presidents at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
After retirement, Bonnie and Earl enjoyed traveling and volunteer work for their church (St. Matthews Baptist Church), where they were faithful members for 49 years. For many years Bonnie actively participated in various music programs at their church both as a vocalist and pianist.
She is preceded in death by one sister Evelyn, and two brothers, Kenneth and Vernon. Bonnie is survived by two sons, Steve (Kim) and Mark (Sharon); and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 4 pm - 7 pm Friday, November 25th, at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road; and 10 am -11 am Saturday, November 26th at St. Matthews Baptist Church, 3515 Grandview Avenue; with
her celebration of life at 11am at St. Matthews Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Cave Hill Cemetery.
