Obituary for Carol Ann Bauer (Hasselwander)

CAROL HASSELWANDER BAUER

Carol Hasselwander Bauer, died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, May 21, 2021. She was born in Louisville, KY on December 17, 1936 to Phillip H. and Camille Ramser Hasselwander.

She was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy and Ursuline College (now Bellarmine University). She married Louis B. Bauer on October 1, 1960 at St. Agnes Church. They were blessed with four children and enjoyed living in Lawrenceburg and Lexington, KY, East Lansing, MI and Walnut Creek, CA before returning to Louisville in 1980.

Carol retired as Director of Accounting Services from Indiana University Southeast in New Albany, where she was given the 1993 Distinguished Service Award - Administrative Professional.

Survivors include: her husband, Louis B. Bauer; sons Daniel L. Bauer (Michelle Reiss) and Patrick D. Bauer MD (Cheri); daughters, Nancy Bauer of Glen Ellyn, IL and  Sara Bauer Thomas (D. Barrett). Six beloved granddaughters: Brooke, Allison and Meredith Bauer; Lilly Bauer; Lindsay and Lauren Thomas. Brother, Phillip H. Hasselwander, Jr. (Sally, dec.); and sister, Mary Lou Davis (Joe, dec.); sisters-in-law, Mary Carmel Cox (Clyde) and Mary Charlesetta Bauer (Ray, dec.); many nieces, nephews, and Ramser cousins.

She is preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Leo D. Bauer (Dorothy).

Her funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation will be in the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
