Obituary for Carolyn McCullough Karem (McCullough)

Karem, Carolyn (McCullough), 83, of Louisville, died Friday, August 27, 2021, at The Episcopal Church Home.

Born in Louisville to the late Norton and Clement McCullough, she was a graduate of Loretto High School and attended Ursuline College.

Carolyn was a retired administrator and executive assistant at WAVE and WHAS television, having trained many on-air personalities and anchorpeople. She was an avid golfer at Louisville Country Club and a long-time member of Milestone Wellness Center.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Karem.

She is survived by her loving brother, Jimmy McCullough (Christine); niece, Kelly Tamagni (Rob); nephew, Sean McCullough; and great-nieces and nephews, Madison, Jack, Olivia, and Ameerah.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at St. John Paul II Catholic Church, 3521 Goldsmith Ln. 40220; with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:30-11:00 a.m. Wednesday before Mass at St. John Paul II.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Little Sisters of the Poor.
