Obituary for Catherine O'Nan Parker (O'Nan)

Catherine DeGeorge Parker, born November 8th, 1920 in Eminence, KY, entered into eternal rest on December 20th at age 100 years old at her home.

She was a member of Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church.

Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Parker; and her loving husband, James DeGeorge, Sr.; her son, James “Jock” DeGeorge , Jr.; her loving parents, Ollie O’Nan and Laura Jolly; her sister, Lillian Arnold; and her brothers, Ollie O’Nan, Jr. and William O’Nan.

Catherine is survived by her loving children, Frances Lyons (Don Brumfield), William DeGeorge and Joseph DeGeorge (Shari); her grandchildren, Toni Hunt, James DeGeorge (Terri), Joe DeGeorge (Beth) and Jock DeGeorge, Pam Morgan, Terry Miller (Dee), Scott Miller, Vince DeGeorge (Lisa), Nick DeGeorge (Mariah) and Tracy Mattingly (Brad);14 great-grandchildren, and 7 great great-grandchildren.

Catherine was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles. She was an avid bowler, she enjoyed the horse races, casino, partying with granddaughters and friends, and an occasional high ball or beer. Although Irish every holiday, we all enjoyed Mawmaw’s famous spaghetti and meatballs. She also loved beach walking, laying in the sun and fishing.

Visitation and services will be private.

Her family gives special thanks to her granddaughter Tracy, Dee Justice, Hosparus, and her nurse, Trisch, for all the special care of her.

A special thank you and love to her son, William DeGeorge, for his many years of love and exceptional care of his mother.
