Obituary for Chadwick D. Moore

Chadwick Moore, born on May 14,1963 in Louisville, Kentucky to Brenda (DeMines) Cherry and
Kendrick Moore. Chadwick was a talented basketball player throughout high school; he even played
semi-pro for a short time on the West Coast. Naturally skilled in phonetics, he could tell where an accent was from just after hearing a few words. This skill extended into his ability to mimic animated characters such as Rocky and Bullwinkle, Scooby Doo, Woody Woodpecker, Yogi Bear and Boo Boo, and others. He would often charm children with this talent just to get a laugh or smile. His gift for sounds did not stop there as he was a talented musician; performing as one of the tallest Prince impersonators for a majority of his young adulthood. He could sing, play drums, guitar, and piano.

As an extroverted person, Chad would speak to any and everyone and could remember their names and
faces. He could greet people in Chinese, Korean, German, and Spanish; no one was considered a
stranger. He loved feeding people! He ran a kitchen at Fort Knox feeding the soldiers on base. Chad always
dreamed of having his own restaurant, but was content with having an open door policy at his home
feeding neighbors, family, friends and anyone else who entered.

He spent the last 16 years working as a Supervisor at the University of Louisville, making sure the students and staff were comfortable. Chad loved his wife, children and grandchildren. His biggest priority was assuring that they were taken care of, even in his final speaking moments he worked to assure that they had comfort and peace. Above all he loved God and believed in the word of God, studying scripture often and conversing with
Jehovah and Jesus daily.

He was preceded in death by his parents Brenda and Kendrick; stepfather, William Cherry: and sister,
Kendra "Lynn". On Thursday May 26, 2022, Chadwick Moore departed this life after a battle with
cancer.
