Obituary for Charles Ray Embry

Charles Ray Embry, 88, passed away peacefully, Monday, June 10, 2019 surrounded by family. He was born on July 1st, 1930 to parents Velsie Maddox Embry and Mack Embry in McHenry, Kentucky and passed into his eternal life on June 10th in Louisville, Kentucky.
He was the oldest of 7 siblings, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. He is predeceased by his parents and brothers JC and Ancel. He is survived by 4 other siblings, Catherine, Randal, Roger, and Wilma Roof.
He was married to Ann Frances Milliner Embry for almost 67 years, being married on July 19th, 1952.
He was a loving father to 9 children, 7 boys and 2 girls. Their names are Charles Kim (Peggy), Laurie Ann Martin (Rich), Kirk (Gina), Kevin (Ashley),Kenny, Keith (Tim), Kitt, Cathy Stewart (the late Steven), and Kris (Apryl).
He is also a grandfather, great grandfather, and great great grandfather.
Our father, Charles, was a member and former Deacon of Highview Baptist Church.
He was also a Health and Safety Leader for Boy Scout Troop #561.
He was a member and past master of Parkland Masonic Lodge #638 for over 50 years. In addition to this, he was a life member of Louisville DeMolay Commandery No. 12 of the Knights Templar.
Charles was a proud army veteran of the Korean War during which he served his country as a Ballistics Meteorologist.
He retired after 35 years working in management at General Electric Company.
He enjoyed almost 30 years in retirement, pursuing the activities he loved the most.
There will be military service at the graveside.
