Obituary for Charles B. Fischer

FISCHER, CHARLES B., of Louisville passed away Thursday, November 25, 2010 at Baptist Hospital East.
Born in Louisville, he was an agent for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., named Mr. Flaget of 2007, a Flaget Alumni, a member of Bonnycastle Club, Past President of Jefferson County Capital Projects Corporation, Shamrock Athletic Club, founding member and Hall of Famer of the Mason Dixon Athletic Club, Our Lady of Lourdes Men's Club, past president of Metropolitan Mid South Veterans Association, past president of KY A.A.U., and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, the former Denise Bayens.
He is survived by his children, Marci Bland (Mike), Charlie M. Fischer, Mary D. Stoll (Oscar), Jerry D. Fischer (Anne), Meg Stone (Russ), Ken R. Fischer (Brenda-deceased) and Patty Phelps (Larry); brothers, Robert and George Fischer; his sisters, Doris Walsh, Peggy Mangeot, Elsie Fischer, Rosemary Cuni, and Nancy Furlong; and 10 grandchildren.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 noon Monday, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 508 Breckinridge Lane, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Sunday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road.
