Obituary for Charles Henry Minter

Charles Henry Minter, 87, passed away Friday, February 9, 2018 in Annapolis, Maryland.
A native of Louisville and a U.S. Navy veteran, Charles was a retired special education teacher of 35 years in New Jersey and twice teacher of the year. He bred, judged and showed champion Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and was a supportive and leading member of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club. He was also a strong supporter of the Arts.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother and five sisters.
Charles is survived by his sister, Judy Johnston (Otis); nieces and nephews, Jim Carman (Pat), Ron Carman (Donna), Susan Kraus, James Kraus (Lorie), Carol Britton (Ed), Kathy London, Debbie Wilkins (Tom), Steven Johnston, Gary Johnston (Janet) and Charles Leffel (Kay) and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 16, 2018 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from Noon until the time of his service Friday at Highlands.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Charles’ name to Asbury University, One Macklem Dr., Wilmore, KY 40390.
