Obituary for Christina Croley Whitehead
Christina Croley Whitehead “Chris”, 87, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed peacefully on Sunday, January 10, 2021.
Born September 8, 1933 in Williamsburg Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Lee and Hazel Croley. Her brothers Charles and Glennis Corley precede her in death.
Chris is survived by her husband of 45 years, James Edward “Ed” Whitehead; daughter, Cindy Albensoeder; grandchildren, Matthew Scalzitti (Candace), Marisa Albensoeder; and great- grandchildren, Giavanna and Eva.
Chris attended Cumberland College and graduated from University of Louisville with a degree in medical technology, which led her to a career as a medical technologist. After retirement, she and Ed spent many winters as Florida snowbirds.
A special thank you to her caregiver Mary Posey. Mary’s prayer and love eased Chris’s long journey with dementia, Mary brought joy to Chris each day.
A celebration of life will be held at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, Tuesday, January 19, 2021, noon-1:00pm, ceremony at 1:00. Burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park, 4400 Bardstown Road.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to your charity of choice.
