Obituary for Clara Mary Amlung (Taylor)

Clara Taylor Amlung
February 26, 1930 – June 24, 2020

Mrs. Clara Taylor Amlung, 90, of Louisville, KY passed away on on June 24th in West Chester, Ohio, with her children by her side.

Visitation will be held from 11:30 until 12:30 on June 29th, 2020 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road. A 1:00 pm graveside service will follow at Cave Hill Cemetery.

Clara was born in Louisville, KY on February 26, 1930. She went to school at Nazareth School for Girls; after graduating, she attended Spencerian College of Business where she met her loving h of 67 years, Martin J. Amlung, Jr. Together, they raised 5 children. Clara spent her life as a dedicated homemaker and a devoted partner to Martin always supporting his career and the success of their family.

As long-time members of Audubon Country Club, they enjoyed many years of retirement with wonderful friends playing golf, bridge clubs, and social gatherings. They were also members of St. Leonard Catholic Church in Louisville. Clara moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, in 2018 and was loved by many at Chesterwood Village in West Chester, Ohio.

Clara was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Bishop; her father, Schuyler Taylor; and her husband, Martin (d) 2017.

Clara is is survived by her five children: Martin Joseph Amlung III (RiAna), Carla Rose Amlung (Marcia Martin), Patrick S. Amlung (Lisa), Thomas W. Amlung (Pam) and Virginia Amlung Reitan; loving goddaughter, Susan Kraus Welsh; seven granddaughters; four grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.
