Obituary for Davy Lee Stallings

Davy Lee Stallings, 82, a long-time resident of Louisville, passed away on December 18, 2021, surrounded by family.

Davy was born December 27, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan. After his family relocated to Louisville, he attended and graduated from Male High School in 1956. He graduated from University of Louisville in 1963 with a degree in Mathematics.

Davy worked as a production engineer at Ford Motor Company, spending most of his career at the Kentucky Truck Plant. More than just a job, he always had a strong love for the complexity, beauty, and power of automobiles and trucks. In addition to production and quality control, he served on numerous project teams to launch the new models of heavy trucks that pulled loads across the country. While working at Ford, he also earned a Masters Degree in Industrial Technology from Eastern Kentucky University.

Davy was baptized at Central Christian Church in 1959. He was an active member at Central and at Bethany Christian in Shively. He later moved his membership to Beargrass Christian Church in the 1980’s. As a member of Beargrass, he served as a deacon, elder, and member of the church board. In 2019, he was honored by the church as an Elder Emeritus. His years of participating in the life of the church were extremely important to him and fostered the faith of his entire family.

Davy is survived by his wife of 61 years, Linda L. Tandy Stallings. He is also survived by his brother, Scott Stallings and family; sons, Todd L. Stallings (Lori Lynn) of Noblesville, IN., and Shawn P. Stallings, M.D. (Susan) of Nashville, TN; sisters-in-law, Lois, LuAnn, and Lisa; and grandchildren, Kaitlin Sanich (Ian), and Hallie, Jacob, Lindsay, and Kailey Stallings.

Funeral service will be at 11:00am on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at Beargrass Christian Church, 4100 Shelbyville Rd, followed by interment in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00pm on Wednesday, December 22, at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd, and 10:00-11:00am on Thursday at the church.
