Obituary

Dennis M. Bell, brother and Louisville native, passed away on August 17, 2019 after 73 years of life. He is predeceased by his parents Herschel and Kathleen (Highbaugh) Bell, and by his former spouse Brenda and her children, Gerald and Tracy Barkemeyer. Dennis is survived by his sister Louanne Barriger and nephews Bryan and Brent, and his brother Theodore Bell and nephews Michael Gray and Jonathan Bell, and nieces Megan and Maren Bell. He attended Saint Francis of Assisi Grade School in the Highlands, and graduated from Saint Xavier High School in 1963. Dennis worked for the U.S. Postal Service, and later at Louisville Downs, Reynold’s Metals and ALCOA in Louisville. He was an enthusiast of all things technological, and became an avid audiophile and photographer; he once was featured in the Courier Journal for his website – “The Far Corner.” We will miss his wit and generosity. Friends and family please join us for a celebration of his life on Saturday, November 9th from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at Falls City Brewery, 901 E. Liberty St., Louisville, 40204.
