Obituary for Donna Deeley

DEELEY, DONNA JOAN, 77, of Louisville passed away Tuesday, June 22, 2010.
She was the former Donna Halpin, a native of Chicago, IL, born to the late Frances and John Halpin.
She was a graduate of Ursuline Academy and Nazareth School of Nursing. She retired from nursing in 1986 to help start the family business, D & W Silks. Donna volunteered for Pregnancy Resource Center in Louisville and Sunlight Home in Naples, FL. She was an advocate for the blind, having been active with the Visually Impaired Preschool (VIPS) and Guide Dogs for the Blind. She was a member of A.O.R.N. and K.N.A., St. Agnes Church in Naples, FL, Blind Association of Florida, Vineyards Country Club and St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church in Louisville.
She was preceded in death by her sister Pat Zimlich.
She is survived by her husband, Eugene M. Deeley; sons, Stephen P. Deeley (Jeanie), Christopher M. Deeley (Claudia) and Sean E. Deeley (Stephanie); brothers, Paul Halpin and Jim Halpin (Janice); sister, Geraldine Schwenker; grandchildren, Patrick, Caroline, Danielle and Ryan Deeley; and nieces and nephews.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 2141 Lancashire Ave., at Bardstown Road, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 8 p.m. Friday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road.
