Obituary for Dorothy Ann "Ann" Klarer (Perrone)
LOUISVILLE – Dorothy Ann Perrone Klarer, 85, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at the Episcopal Church Home. Memories of her ageless beauty, welcoming smile and compassion for all lives will reside in the hearts of the many who met and knew her. She was born in Louisville and graduated from Presentation Academy.
Ann, as she was known, was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Kathryn Perrone; her beloved husband, Don Klarer; her brothers Joe and Tony Perrone; and her sisters Mary Jane McCarty and Sue Welling.
She is survived by her children, Ann Boehme (Dennis), Amy Klarer, Don Klarer (Diane), and Mary Beth Hewett (Shannon Huecker). She was a devoted grandmother to her grandchildren, Andrea Boehme (Jeremy), Corinne Boehme, Sean Klarer (Melody), Bobby Williams (Jennifer), Nick Tyra (Sarah), Jordan Pantoja (Antonio), Jack Hewett (Katie) and Maggie Hewett, as well as 10 great-grandchildren. She was the adored Aunt Nanny of her many nieces and nephews.
We want to send special thanks to the amazing staff of nurses and aides of the Episcopal Church Home for comforting our Mother throughout her stay. The family was unable to be at her bedside during her last hours and having these wonderful angels holding Mom’s hand, praying for her, and allowing us to say our goodbyes while sitting vigil at the window, during these trying times, was extraordinary.
The family will celebrate her life at a private memorial service. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Down Syndrome of Louisville.
