I've had the pleasure of Dr. Shulthise being my AME for the last twelve years. Since loss of a pilot's medical certificate is a constant threat to our career, our annual or semi-annual FAA exam can be a stressful event. But Dr. Shulthise was a caring, compassionate advocate who was as interested in our career longevity as we are and visiting him was more of a social occasion with an old friend. I will miss his sense of humor, story-telling ability, and obvious concern for my well-being.

Dr. Shulthise was always a thoughtful, caring, kind neighbor. I was always amazed to see him so strong in his gait, always on the go, goals in mind, people in mind, but never too busy to say hello and to inquire about a person's life. If I needed help or a contact, he gave it. I will miss him. I admired him. May his family find comfort in wonderful memories of a great man. Anne Y.

May he rest in Peace and may his memory be eternal before God. "Doc" Shulthise was a one-of-a-kind man. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, especially those in the aviation community. My father and Dr. Shulthise were good friends, and I loved hearing the stories that Doc would tell me about his adventures that he and my father had in years past when I came in to get my semi-annual flight physical.
