Obituary for Edward H Seitz Jr.

On December 12th, Mr. Edward H. Seitz Jr., 88, passed away at Eastern Star Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.

He was pre-deceased by his parents, Mr. Edward H. Seitz Sr. and Annora Allgeier Seitz; a brother, Mr. Ronald L. Seitz; his first wife, Margaret Baron Seitz; a son, Robert Andrew Seitz; two daughters, Patricia Ellen and Margaret Elizabeth Seitz; and is survived by his wife of 49 years, Nancy Ingram Seitz; two sons, Messrs. Edward Hunter and Gregory Baron Seitz; and a daughter, Eleanor Porco, all of Louisville. Mr. Seitz is also survived by two grandsons, Messrs. Luke Aaron and John Edward Porco, both of Nashville, Tennessee.

Mr. Seitz attended grammar school at both St. Martin of Tours, and later, St. Elizabeth of Hungary. After graduating from St. Xavier High School, he attended Bellarmine University (then College) where he was amongst the first graduating class of 1954.

He began his career in data processing on the Univac 2 system in the late 1950s for the U.S. Steel Corporation in both Chicago, Illinois, and later in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After returning to Louisville, he held subsequent data processing positions for the Dupont Corporation as well as Metridata Computing. Later, he became Director of Marketing for the Mercer-Meidinger Corporation.

The funeral Mass will be held at St. Brigid Church, 1520 Hepburn Avenue, 40204, on Thursday, December 17th, 11:00 a.m., with a viewing beginning one hour before. Burial will follow in Cave Hill Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank the staffs of both Eastern Star Nursing Home and Hosparus for their attentive care during Mr. Seitz’s illness.
