Obituary for Ellis "Skeeter" L. Stark

Ellis "Skeeter" Stark, 74, passed away suddenly March 28, 2020. Born in Louisville on September 28, 1945, Skeeter was the only child of the late Evelyn (Walker) and Charles Stark.

He worked for over 35 years at Akzo Nobel as a chemist in their clear wood coatings division.

Skeeter was a kind, intelligent, hard working person, who loved the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman, played tennis, and took up golf in his retirement, which he pursued with a passion. He was a gardener known for his tomatoes and an excellent cook. His true talent and passion was in his woodworking skills, refinishing, repairing, framing, cabinetry, wooden puzzles and his beautiful decorative boxes. He was a true craftsman.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife and soul mate, Beverly (Crook) Stark; his very special cousin, Sharon Hurley; sister-in-laws, Brenda (Dennis) Thomas and Theresa Mobley; daughter, Carrie Johnson; niece, Chris Primm; nephews, Brian (Mandy) Calhoun, David (Chris) Thomas, Gregory Thomas and Hunter Mobley; great nephews, Jackson, Jake, Sebastion, Carter and Corbin and many dear friends.

Skeeter was a proud member of St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 2141 Lancashire Ave., Louisville, KY 40205.

Social distancing and masks required. Mass will be live-streamed on the parish Facebook page or viewed on YouTube at St. Raphael ArchLou.

Burial is private at Calvary Cemetery following Mass.

The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to his church.
