He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Nancy L.(Bohnert) Graeser, his five children Edie Raque (Norvin), David Graeser, Kurt Graeser (Janet), Jenny Graeser Wimsatt and Kathleen Graeser. Emil had nine grandchildren, Brad Raque (Suzanne), Amy Hurley (Scott), Greg Raque (Jessica), Matthew Raque, Eric Graeser, Scott Graeser (Natalie), Brian Graeser, Christopher Wimsatt (Tiffany) and Keith Wimsatt. Emil cherished his family and his Catholic faith. He was the former chairman and CEO of Bohnert Equipment Company, he had a passion for investing and was proud of his service in the Air Force during the Korean conflict. His love for gardening grew into a mastery of bonsai gardening. While he did not live to see it’s opening, his lifelong dream of having a botanical garden in Louisville will be realized with the 2019 opening of Waterfront Botanical Gardens. He was a loving supporter of the Little Sisters of the Poor.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Leonard Catholic Church on Thursday, December 27, at 10:00am, with burial to follow at Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, from 2:00-8:00pm, at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd.

Please send expressions of sympathy to: Little Sisters of the Poor, the Abbey of Gethsemane or Waterfront Botanical Gardens.
