Obituary for Emma Rose Bridges

Emma Rose Bridges, 29, of Louisville, Kentucky, prematurely went to her heavenly home to dwell with her Lord and Savior on February 8th, 2023.

Emma was born in Louisville, Kentucky. She graduated from DuPont Manual High School and the Youth Performing Arts School, then furthered her education at the University of Kentucky (she was a lifelong CATS fan!). Upon graduating with a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology, she began her career helping children throughout Kentucky … and she absolutely loved it!

Emma made a lasting impression on all who knew and encountered her. She had a beautiful voice and spirit. She was creative, determined, motivated, extremely organized, and a bit competitive. She shared her love for Jesus in many ways through working with children, singing and leading a worship team while in college, serving on mission trips, and being a student counselor at Crossings. Emma wasn’t afraid to tackle anything, from creating her own cookie business to totally remodeling a bathroom.

Emma married the love of her life, Jared, on September 29th, 2018, but her greatest accomplishment is Jared's and her precious baby girl, Naomi Rose Bridges, who only had 34 perfectly loving days with her mommy.

Emma was preceded in death by her grandparents, George and Ginger Savage, and Jerry “Pop” Ledford.

Emma is survived by the people that loved her most: her loving husband, Jared Bridges; her beautiful newborn daughter, Naomi Rose Bridges; and her parents, Margaret & Henry Dimmitt and George & Lori Savage. She was the proudest big sister to Evan Parker, Elaina Parker, Whitman Dimmitt, Alyssa Dimmitt, Nora Dimmitt, Mason Dimmitt, Garrett (Carly) Savage, and Drew Savage. Her Granny Girl, Deborah Davis, and grandparents, Ed (Molly) Davis, Brenda Ledford, Hank and Tammy Dimmitt, will continue to cherish her memory.

Emma is also survived by her loving aunts: Dee Dee, Tammy, Shellie, Ashley, Erin, and Heather; uncles: Ben, Steven, Greg, and Brian; many cousins, and countless friends. The Bridges family will also cherish Emma’s memory with lots of love, and that includes her in-laws: Tina & David Jones and Sam and Stacey Bridges; and her bonus siblings, Alyssa (Rick) Barton, Jacob (Shelby) Bridges, Emily Bridges, and Sarah Bridges.

Emma’s entire family is so incredibly grateful for the outpouring of love and support from everyone. Highlands Funeral Home, at 3331 Taylorsville Road, will host her visitation on Sunday, February 12th, 2023, from noon until 6:00 pm. Her funeral service will be held on Monday, February 13th at 11:00 am, also at Highlands Funeral Home.
