Obituary for Tom Wilkerson
Tom Wilkerson, 79, passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2021, at his home in Jeffersonville, IN.
Born in Louisville, KY on Jan 15, 1942, he was the son of Nathan and Mildred Caulk Wilkerson. Tom graduated from Butler High School, class of 1960, and received his bachelor of science degree from Campbellsville University in 1965.
While serving in the US Navy, he attended the University of Hawaii and graduated with an MBA in 1970. He was awarded a Doctorate in Education (PhD) in 1977 from the University of Kentucky.
During his professional career, Tom spent several years as a professor at both Bellarmine University and Jefferson Community College. He was also the Founder and President of Wilkerson & Associates, a marketing research and consulting firm based in Louisville.
After retirement, he found much enjoyment in traveling to attend U of L sporting events, going to concerts and plays, as well as entertaining family and friends at his fabulous Thunder Over Louisville Parties and Thanksgiving get-togethers.
He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his daughter, Robyn (Troy); and son Steven (Felicia). Tom is also survived by his sister, Mary Lynn Wilkerson Hoagland, her children, and cousins and other extended family members.
His funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2021, 11:00 AM, at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, Louisville, KY.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 28, 2021, 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and Saturday, 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Private interment is planned for a later date at Cave Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to the donor’s favorite charity in memory of Tom.
