Obituary for George B. Epperson
George B. Epperson, Jr., 82, of Louisville, passed away on Friday, April 30th, 2021.
He was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, golfer, club maker, and an avid football fan. He coached many 7th and 8th grade young men in grade school football at Ascension Catholic Parish where he and his family were all members. He retired as a contractor broker from Landstar Trucking.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George, Sr. and Emma Epperson, and his sister Debbie Epperson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Sharon Epperson; his children, Shelley Tiebens, Mike Epperson (LuAnn) and Rick Epperson, (Amy Jayne); his grandchildren, Samantha, Evan, Ethan, Emma, Taylor and Riley; two great-grandchildren, Eva and Ella; and his sister, Donna Robinson.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 8th, 2021, 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm, at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, Louisville, Kentucky, 40205, with a 4:00 pm memorial service at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in his name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
