Obituary for George Karem Jr.

KAREM, GEORGE JR., 83, of Louisville, peacefully passed away with his loving family by his side on Friday, October 22, 2010.
George was the son of George Karem Sr. and Julia Karem (Koury). He was born January 15, 1928.
In addition to parents, he was preceded by two brothers, Fred Karem and Eli Karem.
George was married to the love of his life, Alma Karem (Leigh). He attended pharmacy school at the University of Kentucky and was also a mason. After graduation, George ran his own pharmacy, University Pharmacy, located at 3rd and Brandise for 25 years, then worked an additional 25 years for Taylor Drugs & Drug Emporium. George retired and lived in Lexington with his wife and niece Carol Ann Rose.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Alma; sons, Michael Karem and Bruce Karem (Linda); daughter, Deborah Karem Webb (Harold); sister, Jo Ann Owens; granddaughters, Tiffany Donnley (Andy), Laura Karem, Ashley Webb Runyon (Todd): grandsons, Marshall Karem (Amy), Jordan Karem and Jonathan Webb; great-grandchildren, Alex Groh, Makenzie Runyon, Jack Donnley and Katherine Donnley.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday October 25, 2010 at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road. Visitation will be from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Highlands.
