KOESTEL, GEORGE E. "MIKE," 79, of Louisville, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2010.
He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran, a bookkeeper for Bargain Supply Co., a 50-year member of Highland Post #201 and a member of St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church. Mike was preceded in death by his brother, Louis Koestel and sister, Josephine Head.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, the former Mary Wellendorff; sons, Michael Edward Koestel (Susan), Douglas Anthony Koestel (Mary), of Bethlehem, GA, Glenn Louis Koestel (Kimberly) and Gary Ernest Koestel (Elaine Pearson), of Starlight, IN.; brother, Victor Koestel; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
His funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at St. Raphael, Bardstown Road at Lancashire, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will from 2-8 p.m. p.m. Tuesday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road.
