Obituary for Geraldine Beckner (Druen)
Geraldine (Gerri/Nana) Beckner, 92, finally got her wish and met Jesus on July 18th.
We're positive that God's kingdom is full of her favorite things, including sunshine, beautiful flowers, and lots of critters to love on and feed.
Gerri was born in Pikeview, KY, the daughter of the late Ira and Lena Druen, and was the youngest of five kids. All of her favorite meals were rooted in her country upbringing; everything from grits, cornbread with beans, and jam cake.
She was married to George Beckner for 47 wonderful years. George will greatly miss her giving him back scratches, doctoring him up, and her infectious laugh. Gerri's family was always her first priority. She loved and cared for us every day. She had a light, kind soul that everyone was attracted to. Her love and kindness for all of God's creatures will never be replaced.
Until we meet again, Gerri leaves her husband George, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to cherish her memory.
The funeral service will be Friday, July 23rd, 12:00 pm, at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd, with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
Visitation will be at the funeral home, Thursday, July 22nd, 2:00 - 8:00 pm. Memorial donations may be made to the Kentucky Humane Society.
