Obituary for Gilbert Jerome Yunt Jr.
Gilbert Jerome Yunt, Jr. “Jerry”, 67, died Saturday January 14, 2023 at home of natural causes.
He was born August 19, 1955, son of Gilbert Yunt, Sr. and Mary Beyerle Yunt in Louisville, and was a graduate of Trinity High School and University of Louisville School of Business. He worked at Impellizzeri’s Pizza, Lincoln Insurance Company, and Krogers.
He was an avid Cubs fan, loved the University of Louisville Cardinals, and playing softball for the team at Impellizzeri’s. He was a member of Saint John Paul Catholic Church as well as a very active as a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Mary Yunt; and his brother, Michael Yunt. He is survived by his brother, Charlie Yunt; and sisters, Tina (Tom) Bergamini, Jennifer Yunt, and Susan Yunt; as well as nephews, Michael (Gina) Bergamini, Daniel Bergamini, and Tony Bergamini (Carrie Mattingly); and nieces Katie Bergamini, Lauren Yunt and Emily Yunt.
Visitation will be 3 pm - 8 pm on Friday, January 20th, 2023, at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, Louisville, KY 40205.
His funeral Mass will held on Saturday, January 21st, at 10 am at Saint John Paul Catholic Church, 3521 Goldsmith Lane, Louisville, KY 40220, with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
Expression of sympathy may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society.
