Obituary for Gordon "Gordie" Scheid
Gordon “Gordie" Scheid, 81, of Louisville, died Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Cincinnati, OH, Gordie was a graduate of St. Xavier H.S. (Cincinnati) and Xavier University. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a retired sales rep for Converse, and a member of St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Mary “Jo” (Warning) Scheid; his three children, Michael Raymond Scheid (Sherrill), Mary Therese Riede (Keller, Jr., MD), and Jennifer Lynn Raque (Mark); brother, Robert Scheid; sister, Martha Murphy; 9 grandchildren, Katie Terry (John), Abigail Russell (J.J.), Michael Scheid, Jr., Sydney Riede, Keller Riede, III, and Jack, Mary Rose, Maggie, and Libby Raque; and two great-grandchildren, Elodie and Georgia Russell.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at St. Louis Bertrand, 1104 S. 6th Street, with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. (with a prayer service at 4 p.m.) Friday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd.
