ABBY, HELEN JEAN CARTA, 84, born July 11, 1925 went to be with her heavenly Father on Friday, March 19, 2010.
She was a retired employee of the City of Louisville and a member of the former St. Polycarp Catholic Church.
Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Joseph; her daughter, Cheryl Jean Ford; and her grandson, Gerald Leon Ford.
She is survived by her son, Jack Joseph Abby (Maggie); two daughters, Donna Lynn Inman (Jackie) and Pamela Marie Abby (Tom Ley); as well as her brothers, Anthony Henry Carta, Joseph Clarence Carta, Eugene George Carta (Delores); a sister, Bettye Marie Mattingly (Charles); six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A Mass of Celebration will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Agnes Church, 1920 Newburg Rd. followed by burial at Highlands Memorial Gardens, Mt. Washington. Visitation will be Friday 2 - 8 p.m. at Highlands Family Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd.
