Steitz, Henrietta Sohn - 95, of Louisville, went home to be with the Lord on January 14, 2023.
She was a homemaker and an exquisite seamstress. Henrietta was an avid reader, loved Hallmark movies, and listening to Elvis. She was a founding member of Buechel United Methodist Church, where she served on various committees through the years. A few of her favorite roles included serving as President of the Women’s Club, using her talent of sewing for various projects, and creating/presenting religious programs as part of the women’s prison ministry. She taught Sunday school to both young and old, and was involved in sewing uniforms for the youth touring choir. Henrietta organized and tended to the church library for many years and later took part in the after-school tutoring program for neighborhood elementary students. She cherished being a stay-at-home mom and being present for her 3 children. In later years, Henrietta took pleasure in being involved with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, leaving them with many happy memories.
Henrietta was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Steitz, her son-in-law, Richard Vinson and all of her 7 siblings. She is survived by son, Daryl (Julie); daughters, Deven (Jim) and Dana; grandchildren, Tara, Amy, Jessica, James, Colin, Joseph, Lauren, Erin, and Ashley; great-grandchildren; Dylan, Braden, Ayden, and Waylon.
Her family would like to thank her caregivers, Pat and Sherrie, for their love and care and allowing Henrietta to fulfill her wish of staying at home until her passing.
