Obituary for Issa Pirouznia

Issa Pirouznia passed away on February 25th, 2022 at Norton Brownsboro Hospital, with his family by his side.

Issa was born on November 11th,1934 in Tehran, Iran. He moved to the United States with his brother to attend college. He graduated from Weber State University. On September 29, 1970, Issa married Mary Jean Doran, and in 1982 he became a United States citizen . Issa worked as a medical technologist for many years, at Jewish Hospital, Norton Hospital, Clark Memorial Hospital and then at Luther Luckett Correctional Complex and Southwest Hospital. After his retirement, he worked for the Red Cross at countless blood drives.

He will be remembered as a loving husband and father who always put his family first. All those who knew him were touched by his kindness and compassion.

Issa is preceded in death by his parents, Esmat and Mahmoud Pirouznia; his brother, Mousa Pirouznia; and his sisters, Pari and Mehri Pirouznia.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Jean (Doran) Pirouznia; his daughters, Shaneh Raymer (Bryan) and Gita Sheehan (Travis); his grandchildren, Christopher and Jonathan Raymer and Abby and Katie Sheehan. He is also survived by a sister, Maryam Pirouznia; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place on Thursday Mar 3, 2022 from 4-8 pm at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. Funeral services will be at Saint Bernadette Catholic Church, 6500 St. Bernadette Ave, on Friday, March 4th at 10 am.
