Obituary for Jack Kaiser

Jack Kaiser passed away peacefully at his home on May 19th, 2021, with his kids by his side.

He was born May 8th, 1926, the son of Leo & Mary Virginia Kaiser. Jack was proud to have served in the Navy Reserves during World War II, and served on the US Draft Board until it was dissolved.

He began selling insurance in the late 1940s when he established Kaiser Insurance Agency in 1949, which is now owned and operated by his son, Rick Kaiser. In addition to operating his agency, he served as Police Chief for the City of Northfield for 24 years, and was also elected and served as Mayor of the City of Northfield for 19 years.
He was a Master Mason in the Scottish Rite and Kosair Temple for 25 years; a member of the Fraternal Order of Police for 48 years, a Kentucky Colonel, and a member of Grace Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Betty J Kaiser, sisters Bonnie Hickerson & Pat Humphreys.

He is survived by his son, Jack R. “Rick” Kaiser (Lisa); daughters, Linda L. Gough (Reverend Eugene), and Debra L. Murphy; grandchildren, Chris Gough, Heather Berkley (Michael), Parker Kaiser, Grant Kaiser (Madison), Max and Jacob Murphy; great-grandchildren, Lilly Beth, Noah, Kendall Grace Berkley, Kora
and Kaden Kaiser; sisters, Carolyn Glaser, Mary Lou Grawemeyer, and Judy Thompson (Hank).

Visitation will be Friday, May 21st, 2021, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd, Louisville, KY 40205.

His funeral service will be Saturday, 1:30 pm at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Cave Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, his family requests that donations be made to Hosparus of Louisville.
