Obituary for Jackson Zane Harkleroad
Jackson Zane Harkleroad, 81, passed away on August 18, 2022, at his residence as a result of complications from a long illness.
As a native of Bluff City, Tennessee, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Tennessee in 1965. His working career of 49 years began at International Harvester with retirement from BAE Systems, Louisville, KY, in 2014.
Jack was preceded in death by his son Brad Harkleroad, his parents, Arthur and Evelyn Harkleroad, his brothers, Arthur Hull, John and Douglas.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia Cross Harkleroad, his sister-in-law, Lou Harkleroad and several nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to Yulanda Smith, his caregiver, and to Hosparus Health of Louisville who provided him with loving care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Special Olympics Kentucky, 105 Lakeview Court, Frankfort, KY, 40601.
Visitation will take place from 12 pm - 2 pm on Wednesday, August 24th, with a service to follow immediately after at 2 pm at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road.
