Jacob Joseph Owen, 34, of Louisville, died Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Norton Suburban Hospital.

Born in Louisville, Jacob was a diploma graduate of duPont Manual High School, is an Eagle Scout, and was a huge NASCAR fan, his favorite drivers being Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Jacob never let his physical challenges prevent him from living a beautiful life.

He was preceded in death by his beloved dad, William A. “Bill” Owen; his loving sister, Mary Alice Owen; his grandparents, Ralph and Dovie Case, and Floyd and Mildred Owen; and his assistance dog, Gurtner.

He is survived by his proud mom, Donna Case Owen; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

His funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 5, 2018 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd., with burial to follow in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday at Highlands.

Jacob requested that in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy be made to Canine Companions For Independence, 4989 State Route 37 East, Delaware, OH, 43015.
