James Alan “Coach” Bush, 76, passed away on October 6, 2018. He was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University and a retired teacher and football coach for Jefferson County Public Schools. Alan was an avid fisherman and enjoyed woodworking.

He is survived by his son, Daniel Bush of Roswell, Georgia; sisters, Jean Rice and Sue Ann Blakely (Martin);nieces, Susan Kraft and Becky Rice, and nephews, Alan Rice, Aaron Smith and Paul Blakely.

His funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Cemetery.

A gathering of family and friends will take place on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of his service at Highlands.
