BUTLER, James Patrick “Pat” Sr., 71 of Crestwood, KY passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Norton-Brownsboro. He attended the former Christ the King School, the former Flaget High School and Bellarmine University. Pat retired from the U. S. Treasury Department as an Inspector for the A.T.F. Bureau. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Pat was an active member of Southeast Christian Church where he served in the areas of: Deacon, Minister on Call, Decision Guide, Community Group Facilitator, Men’s Fraternity, Homebound Ministry, Communion Server. Most recently Pat was serving as a Core Team Member in the development of the Southeast Oldham Campus. He was also active in Bible Study Fellowship. He also shared his time with the LaGrange Kiwanis Club and the Salvation Army. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Tom, George, and Charles Butler; and a sister, Joanne Marx. Pat is survived by his wife, the former Jan Wessel; daughter, Anne Butler; son, James “Patrick” Butler Jr.; step-daughters, Lauren Peege (Dave), and Susan Grimes (Doug); eight grandchildren: Caroline, Samuel, and Claire Butler, Michael, and Christopher Peege, and Katie, Beth and Sarah Grimes; and brothers, Rev. John J. Butler and P. William Butler. The celebration of Pat’s Life will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Southeast Christian Church, 920 Blankenbaker Parkway. Visitation will be from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
