Obituary for Jane Elizabeth "Beth" Copley

Jane Elizabeth “Beth” Copley, 64, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August, 22nd, 2018 while wrapped in the loving embrace of her family.
Beth was the youngest of three, born and raised in Louisville, KY. She was a graduate of Seneca High School where she met (Dr.) Robert W. “Bob” Copley II; it was there that they would begin a love story that would define the next fifty years of the couple’s life together. Beth would sustain Bob through his medical training, proudly working as a dental hygienist. She shifted her focus to motherhood as she became a doting and utterly devoted mother of two sons - Bobby and Preston. She worked in inexhaustible service of her family and community, enriching every person and institution with whom she came in contact. Two organizations for whom she was particularly proud to serve were Kentucky Country Day School and the Cedar Lake community, where she presided as long-term board member and chief fundraiser.

Possessing of an unmatched generosity of spirit, limitless vivacity and charm, Beth was a stranger to none. Her legacy will be cherished by all who were honored to know her, lucky as they were to be on the receiving end of her frequent and indiscriminate hugs. Her light shines on in those who are left to prize her memory. They are: her husband of 44 years, Bob; sons, Preston (Jaime) and Bobby; beloved grandson, Cameron; brother, William Joseph Henry Jr.; and mother, Betty Stevenson; nieces, nephews, extended family and countless friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 26th, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd.

Memorial Service will take place at Highlands on Monday, August 27th at noon, with a private family burial to follow at Cave Hill Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy can be made in the form of donations to Cedar Lake Foundation.
